Open Contemporary with Claire Louise Goldes

ABBONDANZA open contemporary class/Claire’s teaching practice is rooted in contemporary dance, driven by a love of movement and a feeling of abundance. Warmup is informed by Claire’s background in Pilates and other somatic practices, allowing movers to drop into their bodies and connect with breath, alignment, and organization through activation. Claire will teach an excerpt from her piece, “Only Skylights” which is premiering at Arts on Site on March 7th. Phrase work is shared with an invitation to bring oneself to the movement, welcoming personal instincts and aesthetic choices. In this class, we move toward what feels good, reconnecting with pleasure, joy, and celebration within our practice. We show up to breathe and move together, to meet one another where we’re at, and to foster an environment where we can all shine.
