C(HORIO) the Female Choreographic Showcase

Company:
C(HORIO) the Female Choreographic Showcase
It takes a village to be an artist in New York, hence the name of the production. Phonetically, C(HORIO) is read to sound like “choreo” as in “choreography”! Horio (χωριό) is the Greek word for village. Founder, director, and producer Sophia Elena Stefanopoulos believes that her village, her horio, is the community of the arts. She owes much of her artistic journey in dance to the many women in her village. These women, including the cohort of choreographers, exemplify womanhood through their choreography. Join our horio, to showcase how dance connects with womanhood, femininity, village, and community.
