Performa Choreographic Incubator | Winter 2027
Company:
Performa Choreographic
The next Performa Choreographic Incubator runs January 4–9, 2027 in Philadelphia.
The week-long workshop activates architectural space to support emerging performance by independent artists. Participants gain access to guided practice, high quality documentation, and meet potential collaborators across two studios situated in the East Passyunk neighborhood of South Philly for an exciting "campus" feel.
It's a prime window of time in the winter. Performa 006 occurs during most academic breaks and is the week prior to JanArtsNYC performance conferences. The deep freeze outside offers clarity for personal focus and physicality to develop your choreographic mind or next Fringe production.
Artists are encouraged to reserve the week to generate new dance by utilizing their surroundings to invigorate their process: Free Library, ample transportation, meeting space, and local neighborhood whimsy.
Please also save the date for Performa RE/PLAY — two free work in progress showings on January 8, 5-6pm & January 9, 2-3pm at the Ginko Center! (Formerly CHI Movement Arts Center)
