Dancing Through Parkinson's to Present Second Annual Live Concert Performance
A Form to Return To: The Body as Form, Force, and Language
With contributions from dancers living with Parkinson’s and a cast of musicians and poets, this performance invites audiences to witness a deeply embodied inquiry into what it means to return to a shape—not to repeat it, but to transform it.
This powerful production explores the body as both vessel and voice—navigating the space between structure and surrender, constraint and creativity. Drawing from poetry, somatic improvisation, and multi-sensory practice, the work reimagines form as a living, changing language shaped by the forces of Gravity and Grace.
For these performers—each living, moving, and expressing the realities of Parkinson’s Disease—this interplay is not metaphorical, but deeply lived. Together they have crafted a performance that uses the idea of shape as a metaphor for effort and offering. Where shaping is a negotiation between what is possible and what is present.
Guided by Dancing Through Parkinson’s Creative Director Rachel Whiting and poet laureate Francine Ringold, the performance invites many first-time performers into a public stage.
Join us for an evening where dance becomes both a question and an answer.
