Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company
Over 5 decades and counting, the Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company, under the direction of Enrique Cruz DeJesus since 1998, pauses to reflect. This season will see the world premiere of DeJesus's "Exhibition," set to music by Astor Piazzolla and Daniel Binelli, played live by guest Uruguayan concert pianist Polly Fermany; along with three classic works by renowned choreographer Eleo Pomare (1937-2008); his "Radeau" (Raft), a picture of Haitians caught in a stormy sea that stands between the life left behind and a hoped-for life ahead; "Hex," to affect as by an evil spell; and "Las Desenamoradas," music by John Coltrane, based on Federico Garcia Lorca's play "House of Bernarda Alba."
