vildwerk. is a nonprofit organization that inspires environmental awareness through dance, making its New York City Center debut for one night only. Join us on January 21 and become part of the artistic movement working to protect our shared planet. Be the first to witness five world premieres of new artistic collaborations and inspiring dance works.
Bringing together award-winning artists and internationally recognized conservationists, vildwerk. commissions and presents performances that deepen public engagement with urgent ecological issues and inspire action on behalf of the natural world.
Founded in 2022, vildwerk. has presented sold out performances in New York and London, featuring works by leading choreographers, including founding member Christopher Wheeldon, as well as Gianna Reisen, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Joshua Beamish, Antonia Franceschi, Bradley Shelver, Henning Rübsam, Virginie Mécène, and Ingrid Silva. Artists have included dancers from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, Buglisi Dance Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, LA Dance Project, Joffrey Concert Group, and other distinguished companies.
Collaborating artists have included Mara Galeazzi, Edward Watson, Fernando Montaño, David K. Israel, Felipe Perez Santiago, Martin Broen, Samantha Bass, Isabella Boylston, Mira Nadon, Preston Chamblee, Craig Hall, Alexa Maxwell, Victor Abreu, Lloyd Knight, Benjamin Freemantle, Luciana Paris, Renan Cerdeiro, Megan LeCrone, Grace Sautter, Ane Arrieta, Lauren Jaeger, and many others.
Conservation partners have included World Wildlife Fund, Nature and Culture International, Turtle Conservancy, Re:Wild, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Hudson River Park’s River Project, California Grizzly Alliance, and others.
