Free Dance Program at Mission College

Join students, faculty, and community members on Tuesday, October 14, 4pm for an eye-opening dance performance by Benita Bike’s DanceArt at Los Angeles Mission College’s lovely AMP Theatre. This program is FREE and is supported by the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles Mission College’s Department of Arts, Media & Performance, and the College’s AGS Honor Society.
In this unique dance performance, audience members will not only see beautiful dancers perform, but they will also be invited to participate in audience discussions of the dances performed. The DanceArt artists are skilled at introducing concert dance to those new to concert dance, but they also provide an enriching experience to those who are long-time dance viewers.
This performance features “From Where I Sit,” where personalities reveal themselves in vignettes titled “Ascending,” “Tired of it All,” “Corruptor,” “Solace,” & “On Edge.” In addition, viewers will see “Benches,” set to driving steel drum music, and “Me and Myself” and “Me and the Branch” from the dance “Aspects of Me.”
