GALLIM returns to The Joyce Theater with two world premieres and a program that moves from the intimate to the epic.
Artistic Director Andrea Miller premieres a new solo set to The Cranberries’ Dreams, inspired by the power of a single voice to fill an enormous sonic landscape. Former GALLIM dancer Sean Howe returns to create a world premiere for seven dancers, the first original work GALLIM has commissioned from a guest choreographer. Set within a raw, industrial environment that transforms around the dancers, Howe’s work moves between darkness and light in an exploration of hope, resilience and the celebration of life in all its hardship and beauty.
The program also brings Miller’s state back to The Joyce and introduces GALLIM audiences to YEAR, an ensemble work tracing the cycles of life, death, joy, loss and renewal.
