City of Ashes is a new full length contemporary dance work marking the advent of the AIDS crisis in New York City. A multi-disciplinary collaboration with composers David Friend, Bill Solomon and John P. Hastings and lighting designer Mike Riggs, the piece evokes the magnitude of human loss and the strength of a community determined to survive.

The program also features two short new works – The Counterfactual, a work for four women exploring the What If? of our everyday lives, and a new work for MWC2, the Company’s 2nd Company of performers.

Choreography: Matthew Westerby in collaboration with the performers

Music: David Friend, Bill Solomon & John P. Hastings

Lighting: Mike Riggs
