Dinner Party is a multidisciplinary cross between a dance and a play. Text and movement intertwine to convey intimate storylines that touch on everyday and challenging topics. Growing out of Michelle Thompson’s interest in the choreographic structure of the duet, the work builds as a series of conversations between couples, highlighting the ways in which the conflicts and closeness of these intimate relationships reveal themselves in more public settings. Thompson, in collaboration with Scott Illingworth of Society Theatre Company, has partnered with playwrights, actors, and dancers to bring you multiple storylines that will collide at the same dinner party. On October 9th at Arts On Site catch two of the six scenes that are part of the larger work. Learn more at www.dinnerpartyprojectnyc.com and on Instagram @dinner_party_project_nyc

II Queens in Harlem follows II queer men in their journeys of life and dance, exploring their identities as individuals, partners, and creators. Prepare to participate in a conversation, unpacking queerness, artistry, and the search for truth under the protective yet unforgiving stage lights. Find yourself immersed in a tell-all novel of the space within and between two people. Peeling back the armor held by a soft, silk overlay. The intrinsic armor we all know, vital to endure the challenges of life. The silk overlay, sewn by the creatures that wipe our tears, refusing to let the armor rust.
