Tuffets and Tricksters

Company:
Dance Visions NY
Dance Visions NY presents Tuffets and Tricksters, an interdisciplinary outdoor performance exploring the enduring—and changing—lessons of myths, fables and fairy tales. Set in the Sunken Garden at historic Cedarmere Estate, the program weaves together dance, live music, spoken word, physical theater, visual art and fashion to consider timeless questions of truth, compassion, courage, power and freedom. The afternoon features contemporary works by choreographer Beth Jucovy, including There But by Fortune, Insomnia, and a dance and fashion collaboration recently presented at StylePointe Nouvelle during New York Fashion Week; a new satirical physical-theater work, The Emperor’s New Clothes; and selections from the repertory of Isadora Duncan. This event is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
