Winter Rhapsody
Company:
Dances We Dance and the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble
The Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble and Dances We Dance unite to present “Winter Rhapsody”, Saturday December 5th at 7:30pm and December 6th at 2 and 5:30pm, at the West End Theatre, 263 W 86th St, Second Floor, New York, NY 10024.
In this season of miracles and mystery, “Winter Rhapsody” celebrates the joy of being human. In a rare confluence, the works of modern dance pioneers Isadora Duncan, Anna Sokolow, and Charles Weidman are on glorious display alongside contemporary choreography, created by those that maintain the great's' legacies. The finale of the program is "Christmas Oratorio", Weidman's 1939 masterpiece that illuminates the story of the nativity through dance and is set to J.S. Bach's sweeping score of the same name.
